Once there was a land with flax toitoi swamp land and it was called the planes and there was a mountain called Mt Torlesse and there is a range called Torlesse range and after Pouāki was placed on Mt Torlesse no longer could the villagers could move or live freely,whoever who left to get food would not come back so they would of be lifted up and was taken to his nest by Pouāki but Pouāki could never satisfy his hunger!
There was a man named Ruru who had a plan so he choose forty of the bravest men so the men worked all night to make a cage every night once the cage was finished Ruru said be Quiet the cage was good enough for the men to move around in so Ruru went out as soon as sun hit pouāki came flying down and Ruru ran to safety so pouāki hooked his feet to the roof but he could not let go so his feet got chopped off well he was killing men then his wing but killed more men but then they got out and clubbed pouāki to death then climbed the mountain but half way they heard a noise and they memorized the song then killed the young ones.
